Boxes with one glue point

Boxes with one glue point

Boxes with one glue point

Material: binding cardboard + coated/designer paper and/or cellulose/kraft/designer cardboard.

Design features: It consists of two separate parts—a box with high sides and a lid, which has the same design but is larger in size and covers the bottom.

Scope of application: the most popular type of box, which not only looks great but also provides reliable protection for the product. This versatile model is ideal for packaging gifts, shoes, candy, jewelry, and many other items, offering the perfect blend of beauty and functionality.

The lid-and-base design is a common model consisting of two separate parts: a box with high sides and a lid that fits over them. The box can be square, rectangular, round, or irregularly shaped. The size can be any—90×90×50 mm, 200×200×30 mm, or other dimensions. The lid can be solid or feature a shaped window for viewing the contents. The box has a solid bottom, which, combined with the dense material, provides it with sufficient strength. Depending on its shape and size, this model is suitable for various products—gift sets, tableware, clothing, textiles, and jewelry.

Frequently asked questions

What determines the cost of a layout?

Creating a design model is the initial stage in the production of most industrial goods, including printed materials. Our designers approach this task comprehensively and professionally, combining the implementation of creative ideas with the client’s preferences.
The price of this service depends on several factors:

✔ Product format – designing a small promotional sticker will cost less than creating a wall calendar;
✔ Design complexity – exclusive gift packaging designs that require special paints and varnishes or labor-intensive decorative techniques tend to be more expensive;
✔ cost of materials – the most budget-friendly options are low-grade paper and cardboard;
✔ turnaround time – rush production may require additional funds.

Our company guarantees the creation of original designs and the production of printed materials based on those designs, in accordance with all of our clients’ requirements, including their budget.

What are the options and methods for binding a block of pages?

The design of many printed products includes a binding. This structural element is characteristic of multi-page printed publications, such as notebooks, brochures, catalogs, and so on.

Special fasteners are used to bind the block of pages to the cover of the printed product:

✔ glue-bound – a softcover book bound using adhesive is considered a budget-friendly option, suitable for producing multi-page items with a thin cover made of paper with a weight of up to 300 g/m²;
✔ springs, whether plastic or metal – we use the more reliable metal spring binding, which ensures the maximum opening angle for wall calendars and daily planners;
✔ staples – a reliable option that is popular for binding brochures, notebooks, and booklets with up to 50 pages;
✔ Hardcover – the optimal solution for producing books or souvenir notebooks (the manufacturing process for this binding involves stitching the cardboard spine of the publication with special thread and then applying special textile materials such as gauze and braid to it).
Our engineers and designers create stylish, custom designs while ensuring that the products we create are both functional and practical.

What is the difference between 4+4 printing and 4+0 printing?

The terms “4+4 printing” and “4+0 printing” are part of the professional jargon used by printing specialists. They are used to describe the color scheme and layout of printed images.

The number 4 indicates the number of ink passes on each side of the sheet—that is, its front and back surfaces. Accordingly, the number 4 denotes the four ink passes that are typically used in full-color offset printing. This method involves the sequential application of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black ink. The result of this approach is a wide color gamut and the ability to achieve the desired shades when designing the product.

The distinctive features of the 4+0 and 4+4 systems lie in the following details:

✔ The 4+0 method refers to a single-sided full-color printing process in which images and text are printed only on the front side of the sheet;

✔ The 4+4 option is a two-sided full-color print that covers both sides of the sheet;

✔ The choice of printing method depends on the specific characteristics of the printed product, its intended use, and the design concept;

✔ The 4+4 method, which involves double the work, is more labor-intensive—products printed using this industrial printing technique have a relatively higher production cost.

At our facility, printing is carried out using state-of-the-art automated equipment, which guarantees high-quality products. Contact us—our prices are competitive!

When is a creasing needed?

Creasing is one of the processes used to mechanically treat sheet stock in industrial printing. This process, which does not damage the cellulose fibers, creates creases—indented grooves that serve as guides for fold lines—on the sheets.

Here are some examples of situations where you simply can’t do without running around to print shops:

✔ if it is necessary to reduce the stiffness of the paper or cardboard along the fold lines—an example is the production of classic rectangular boxes;

✔ when working with high-density cardboard and paper materials—used to make folders, postcards, invitations, notebook covers, etc.;

✔ when the grooves made by a scoring knife or roller are essential for high-quality folding and assembly of the product;

✔ To improve the performance and appearance of printed materials—thanks to the creasing machine, the folds are even, crisp, and durable, and the product lasts longer.

At our company, rolling is performed using specialized, state-of-the-art equipment that is both powerful and highly precise. The use of such machines, combined with the professionalism of our operators, results in high-quality products that meet international standards.

Why are projects created by web designers not suitable for printing in a printing house?

Prepress preparation, which precedes the industrial production of a printed product, involves creating a layout. This process must be carried out by specialists at the printing company—a web designer cannot handle this task for a number of reasons:

✔ A web designer creates a mockup exclusively on a screen or monitor, without taking into account that it will look different once it is actually built;

✔ All the important details, rules, and restrictions regarding print design projects are known only to printing specialists, layout artists, and designers;

✔ Web designers face certain limitations when it comes to typography—the specific aspects of text layout;

✔ The goal of the specialists who design prototypes for industrial production is to ensure that the final product matches the design—our employees in the engineering and design department are responsible for this.

If you choose Design-Print Ukraine, you can be confident that your order will be executed to the highest standards at every stage—from design to the production of the printed materials you need. Mass production of the product begins only after our client approves the exclusive prototype, which has been crafted to meet all of their requirements.
